AUSTIN ASSOCIATION OF FACILITY AND MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS, otherwise known as AAFAME (pronounced A-fame), is the largest organization in Texas dedicated to the education & advancement for building and facilities engineers.
AAFAME is a non-profit volunteer based organization with a board of directors, committees and administrators who follow written by-laws as voted on by our members. Our membership is represented by over 600 individuals who represent over 220 companies in the Austin and surrounding area. Our members include chief, lead, intermediate and entry level engineers as well as industry related vendors to help service their building needs.
Every month AAFAME turns the spotlight on members who are making an impact in their professional field and around the organization. These members exemplify the mission of AAFAME to make it the place where news happens. If you are interested in being highlighted or nominating another member for the spotlight, contact Blair Rankin at email@example.com.
This class taught by Segdrick Jones, Facilities Engineer of PerkinElmer, covered the basics of HVAC operation and the essential checks when performing a Preventive Maintenance. Whether you perform the PM yourself or monitor vendor reports, you will have a better understanding of what makes a system operate efficiently, signs of possible problems, and testing methods for evaluating a system's condition.
